My town likes industrial impotence
My town's small, loves its diffidence
My town thrives on dangerous bigotry
My town's big in the sense of idolatry
My town believes in God and his crew
My town hates the Catholic and Jew
My town's innocent, selfistic caper
My town's diligent, reads the newspaper
My town's sweet, I was born bare
My town is not what I am, I am here

James Dean

My town's mid-sized, its projects spunky
My town is trendy, sometimes funky
My town thrives on music and malls
My town needs some money at call
My town is a newer invention
My town’s fine in my perception
My town’s fair and open-minded
My town’s fairly seldom winded
My town’s not big, it's nice indeed but
My town can’t give me what I need.

Frederic Laudenklos

Until today I found no proof of the authenticity of the poem said to be written by James Dean. February 2010.
